Core Machining Masteries

We machine complex geometries across diverse configurations:

  • Conventional 2/3-Axis SPDT: High-accuracy execution of spheres, aspheres, diffractives, and complex freeform geometries (including Fast Tool Servo machining).
  • Fly-Cutting and Ruling: Engineered for flat surfaces, multi-faceted optics, and custom diffraction gratings.
  • Laser-Assisted Diamond Turning: Specialized processing designed specifically to handle challenging infrared (IR) and UV materials.
Our Technology Flagship: Patented DPI® Mastering

For lens arrays and wafer-level optics (WLO), standard diamond turning or diamond milling forces designers to accept compromises in quality, fill factors and achievable geometries. Our 100% proprietary, patented Dynamic Part Indexing (DPI®) technology completely removes these boundaries.

  • True On-Axis Performance: By sequentially balancing and turning each individual lenslet on the workspindle axis, DPI® delivers perfectly repeatable form and roughness across thousands of fields.
  • 100% Fill Factor: Maximize active optical areas with zero dead space between lenses.
  • Unmatched position accuracy: Because our patented dynamic process keeps the workspindle continuously running throughout the entire machining cycle, we can achieve a 1µm absolute position accuracy over a completer master.
  • Infinite Design Freedom: Every single lens within an array can be assigned an entirely unique optical definition (aspheres, mild freeforms,...) to actively compensate for downstream system or replication errors.
Material Ecosystem

Our deep understanding of material science allows us to optimize machining parameters for an expansive array of substrates:

  • Metals: Aluminum, Copper, Nickel-Phosphorous (NiP) plating, RSA Aluminum, Brass, NiBron, ....
  • Infrared & Crystal Optics: Si, Ge, ZnS, ZnSe, CaF2, MgF2, GaAs, ...
  • Polymers: PMMA, COC, COP, Polycarbonate (PC), ....
Elimination of Outsourcing Risk: Zero Accumulated Tolerances

To provide sub-micron predictability, we rely on our completely integrated in-house workflow. Your project never shifts back and forth between unaligned sub-contractors:

  • Material & Pre-Processing: Internal roughing, custom fixture engineering, and specialized heat treatment.
  • Substrate Enhancement: In-house galvanic Nickel-Phosphorous (NiP) plating ensures a flawless, high-purity surface layer optimized specifically for diamond tools.
  • Precision Diamond Turning: Execution via conventional SPDT, freeform 3-axis turning, or proprietary DPI®.
  • Post-Processing & Metrology: Precision diamond saw dicing, specialized milling, and metrology
